  • Your personal mentor will work with you on your wellbeing and any issues you may have that could be holding you back from the life you desire.
  • Develop self-leadership, team building and confidence

  • Gain more motivation

  • Explore work or study opportunities

  • Learn key skills for work preparation

  • Make new friends and support networks

Future Leaders’ Youth FOCUS Program is an Employment Placement Service for young people aged 18-24 in the Wellington and Hamilton metro areas. It is a work preparation and mentoring program that develops self-leadership, empowering our rangatahi to increase their confidence, team building and work readiness skills. This covers all aspects of personal development and work preparation including goal setting, CVs, exploring work and study options, personal presentation, confidence and communication, team work and motivation and interviewing for the workforce.

Our young people are then supported as they work towards securing job placements in their favoured industries. Once work placement is achieved, robust mentoring continues for 6 months with Future Leaders Mentors supporting both clients and their employers as they transition into their new & sustainable careers.

The focus of Future Leaders’ Employment Placement Services and their unique component of 6 months additional pastoral care is on mentoring and supporting our rangatahi in all aspects of their lives to enable the stability needed to gain and keep a sustainable work or study outcome. This ensures a longer term holistic and end-to-end approach that:

  • Develops and maintains discipline, routine and motivation.

  • Develops work preparation skills.

  • Sources and helps secure employment and/or study.

  • Works alongside young people to sustain their outcome and deal with personal life issues that can arise.

  • Develops self resilience and skills for their ongoing future success.
